Amidst the exquisite gardens of Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley, the Mass Senior Care Foundation celebrated its 32nd Anniversary and honored its President, Marva Serotkin. During her 10 years as President, in addition to her steadfast support of the annual Scholarship program to promote educational and professional advancement for long term care staff, Marva championed the expansion of the Foundation's work to improve care transitions and reduce the inappropriate use of antipsychotic medications in nursing facilities. Marva's legacy of commitment, leadership and advocacy will continue to strengthen the Foundation for years to come.

Mass Senior Care Foundation Executive Director Carolyn Blanks provided welcoming remarks, that were followed by a lively program celebrating Marva's tenure and accomplishments. Presentations included remarks from Alice Bonner, Secretary of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, who served as the Executive Director of the Foundation when Marva first assumed the role of Foundation President; testimonials from Sherica Metayer, a two-time Foundation Scholar, and Nurse Manager at The Boston Home, who shared the impact that the Scholarship program and Marva have had on her life and career, echoed by Cindy Walsh, long time Director of Clinical Services at The Boston Home, and a moving tribute from Mass Senior Care Association Board Chairman Bill Bogdanovich.

The Foundation is extremely grateful for the generous donations it received from member facilities and Associate Members, in particular the Premier Sponsor CliftonLarsonAllen and the Platinum Sponsor CareOne Management. With your support, we will further our efforts to provide our aging population with precisely the care and community they need.  Please view the list of 2017 Foundation Donors.
